Question 1

How do I make a 3D printed surf fin?

Accepted Answer

Design the fin in Fin Studio in your browser: shape the outline, pick FCS or Futures as the box system, tune foil and flex, then export the STL and print it flat in PETG or a carbon-fibre blend. Built-in checks flag anything that will not print or fit.

Question 2

Do 3D printed fins fit real FCS and Futures boxes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Fin Studio models the standard tab geometry for FCS, Futures and US boxes, with print clearance built in and a fit-test coupon so you can calibrate your printer before printing a full set.

Question 3

Are 3D printed surf fins any good?

Accepted Answer

For everyday surfing, yes. Fin Studio's flex model tunes wall count and infill to the material so a printed PETG or carbon-blend fin flexes like a production fin. Print flat for maximum strength or upright for a support-free tab.

Question 4

Is Fin Studio free?

Accepted Answer

Yes — designing and exporting fins is free for personal, non-commercial use.
